Cryolipolysis

Medical technology

Cryolipolysis (‘CRYO’ meaning cold, ‘LIPO’ meaning fat, and ‘LYSIS’ meaning disintegration) is one of the most popular and well known non-surgical fat reduction treatments available.

Cryolipolysis involves the use of innovative medical technology to safely deliver optimised cryo-energy for localised fat cell reduction into targeted areas of the body, where stubborn pockets of fat are commonly stored. The exposure to extremely low temperatures causes apoptosis (cell death) of fat cells without damaging surrounding tissue or the skin’s surface.

Visible results in 1 session

Cryolipolysis can reduce between 20 to 40% of stubborn fat in the treated area. Patients will see a subtle improvement after treatment, with results continuing to improve from 3 to 12 weeks.

Visible centimetre reduction

Results are compared to liposuction, but without downtime, pain or risks. It is important to have a healthy lifestyle for long-lasting results.

Does Cryolipolysis hurt?

Patients describe the feeling of a cooling sensation for 10 – 12 minutes. After that it’s common for that area to feel numb for a little while.

Who is suitable for?

Ideal candidates are those with a normal BMI (18.5 to 25). Essentially these people present with a healthy to slight abundance of subcutaneous fat with small bulges or “stubborn” fat which they want to reduce.

How long between treatments?

The recommended minimum wait time is 30 days before you get a second Cryolipolysis session in the same treatment area.

What can I expect after?

Cryolipolysis is not a fast results treatment, however, it is permanent, so certainly worth the wait. Patients often report seeing results as early as 3 weeks.
